Jun 09 - Jun 19, 6:30 - 9:30 pmThis class will demonstrate the basic components of Adobe Premiere video editing software. Students will learn how to create a project, capture footage, organize their media, use the workspace effectively, and all the basic cutting techniques they’ll need to get started on their own projects. Students wishing to learn Final Cut Pro will still benefit from this class since the two programs are extremely similar.
This class is a hands-on “lab-style” class but students are expected to bring their own laptop computers each day with Adobe Premiere installed and running. A free download of the Premiere Pro CS6 is available here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/. The program is available for both Windows and Macintosh. A 64-bit computer is required. If you can only provide an older version of Premiere for yourself you will still get the full benefit of this class since the introductory features have not changed in any significant way.
The Hart House Film Board has one laptop with Premiere CS6 installed available to its membership. It can be reserved by visiting the Film Board website: www.hhfilmboard.com and clicking on the equipment loan tab. The cost is $10 per half-week.
NOTE: Deadline to withdraw or transfer from this class is 5pm June 5. A $15 withdrawal fee applies.
